Cable Gripper for 1/16" Cable, Adjustable Side-Exit (Edge-Grip)

High-precision suspension gripper engineered for edge-mounting rigid architectural diffusers, acoustic baffles, and LED-integrated signage. Unlike threaded stud hardware, this gripper utilizes a precision-machined serrated jaw system to clamp directly onto the material edge, eliminating the need for through-hole fabrication. The base features a knurled, hand-tightened locking cap that allows for micro-torque adjustment, ensuring the serrations seat deeply into the substrate for a high-friction, fail-safe hold. A lateral side-exit port routes the structural aircraft cable cleanly away from the display edge, while the top spring-loaded plunger enables tool-less, stepless vertical height adjustments for perfect luminaire alignment.

Designer’s Note

When specifying this component for suspended acoustic baffles or acrylic diffusers, calculate the total dead load to ensure the edge-clamping force does not induce stress-fracturing in brittle substrates—especially in environments with high ambient temperature fluctuations. Use caution when mounting materials prone to thermal expansion, as rigid edge-gripping may require a slight tolerance gap. Always confirm that the serrated jaw is orthogonal to the material plane to prevent "creep" or slippage over time. For critical alignments in multi-module arrays, we recommend pre-tensioning the aircraft cable network to 50% of the fixture's weight before final locking to stabilize the grid against HVAC-induced sway.
