Self-Locking Gripper - 3/16" Horn for 1/16" Aircraft Cable

Self-Locking Gripper - 3/16" Horn for 1/16" Aircraft Cable
This engineered suspension interface is specifically designed for aircraft cable-supported lighting systems, serving as the primary mechanical connection between the ceiling suspension drop and the luminaire. Featuring an automatic internal locking mechanism, it securely accommodates 1.5 mm (1/16") aircraft cable the moment it is placed under tension. A convenient push-button top release enables smooth, tool-less height adjustments during installation or maintenance. To maintain a clean aesthetic and prevent internal jamming, the gripper utilizes a side-exit routing path that efficiently directs excess suspension cable laterally. At the base, an integrated 3/16-inch horn receiver accepts double ball-end cables, utilizing a bottom-threading set screw to mechanically lock the fixture attachment securely in place. Designer’s Note This component is ideal for installations where excess ceiling cable must be cleanly routed away from the lower fixture connection to prevent visual clutter or physical interference. When utilizing the 3/16-inch horn receiver, verify that the ball-end of your suspension harness is fully seated before tightening the bottom set screw to ensure a fail-safe mechanical lock. As with all friction-locked suspension hardware, always support the dead weight of the lighting fixture from below before depressing the top release button to make height adjustments. Quick Specs
