Directional Housing Swivel

Directional Housing Swivel (housing-swivel)
The Directional Housing Swivel is a mechanical articulation joint engineered to connect a directional light housing to a fixed canopy or track adapter. This component enables precision aiming of the luminaire across dual axes, providing refined control over beam distribution. It is machined with internal locking teeth to hold the set angle firmly under the static weight of the fixture head, ensuring stability and preventing drift over time. The swivel is engineered with specific thermal expansion tolerances to prevent binding when the attached lighting housing reaches peak operating temperatures.
Designer’s Note: Installation Best Practices
Specify this swivel when your architectural lighting plan requires exact beam aiming after the primary installation is complete. Route your power wires directly through the hollow center of the swivel body to isolate them from external shear forces. Ensure all set screws or locking nuts are fully torqued once the final angle is established. Do not attempt to force-adjust the housing angle without loosening the mechanical lock first, as this action will shear the internal positioning teeth.
