The Compact Cable Gripper (Male) is a precision-engineered suspension component designed for the secure, permanent installation of lighting fixtures, signage, and architectural displays. Featuring a streamlined cylindrical body with an integrated male threaded stud, this gripper provides a direct mounting point for attachment to fixture housings or structural ceiling canopies. The unit utilizes a standard spring-loaded internal clutch for rapid, tool-less vertical height adjustments. Its defining feature is the integrated lateral set screw located on the side of the body. Once the final height is set, this screw acts as a secondary mechanical lock, immobilizing the internal clutch mechanism to ensure the fixture remains at the desired elevation regardless of vibrations, incidental contact, or seismic activity.

Designer’s Note

The lateral set screw is a critical safety feature for commercial and public-space installations. To ensure optimal performance, always complete your primary electrical connections and rough height adjustments before engaging the set screw. When locking the device, use an appropriately sized Allen key to tighten the screw until firm resistance is met—do not over-torque, as excessive force can deform the internal cable clutch and damage the device. Finally, please note that this component is strictly intended for supporting static loads and is not suitable for dynamic or repetitive-motion applications.
