2-Pin T-Tap Wire Splice

2-Pin T-Tap Wire Splice (2-pin-t-tap)
The 2-Pin T-Tap Wire Splice is a mechanical insulation displacement connector engineered to tap a secondary circuit into a continuous primary wire without the need to cut or strip the outer jacket. This component is designed for routing low-voltage power directly to LED strip grids or localized control interfaces. An internal brass contact blade shears precisely through the wire insulation to establish a secure electrical connection under applied mechanical compression. The housing is manufactured from flame-retardant polymer to mitigate thermal risks at the electrical junction.
Designer’s Note
Strictly align the physical wire gauge of your circuit with the specified tolerance of the T-tap; a tap sized for 18 AWG will fail to penetrate the jacket of a thicker wire and will sever the copper core of a thinner gauge wire. Apply compression using parallel-jaw pliers to close the locking mechanism, as standard slip-joint pliers frequently apply angled pressure that bends the internal blade and destroys the splice integrity. Always verify that your total circuit amperage does not exceed the current-carrying capacity of the internal metal contact.
